At the Europaviertel district in Frankfurt, the modern, green-roofed high-rise building NION is in development.
The over 100 meter tall office building will create innovative working space for the future.
The planning phase of the office building focuses on sustainability and the highest standard. Therefore, DGNB Platinum is achieved with the implementation of an integral sustainability concept. Regional building materials and an intensive green roof contribute to a livable working environment. In the interior space, plants and trees provide a natural indoor climate.
Using integrated smart building technology, the energy demand is reduced and optimized. Daylight-dependent lighting, intuitively controllable air-conditioning, and central load management ensure efficiency in energy consumption. Including photovoltaic facades, geothermal energy and high-tech thermal energy storage, the energy demand is partially covered autonomously, and peak loads are reduced. Ventilation systems are operated with highest energy-recovery and according to needs.
The use and storage of rainwater and greywater significantly reduce the primary consumption of drinking water for irrigation of the intensive green façade and outdoor vegetation.
